IAF gets Rafale edge: India, France sign deal for 36 fighter jets
NEW DELHI: India and France on Friday signed the Euro 7.87-billion deal for Rafale fighter jets, equipped with latest missiles and weapon system besides multiple India- specific modifications that will give the IAF cutting edge capability over arch rival Pakistan.
The deal+ was signed by Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar and his visiting French counterpart Jean Yves Le Drian sixteen months after Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced India’s plans to buy 36 Rafale fighter aircraft in fly away condition during his trip to France.
Kudos to Namo, Congres was sitting on the files for 10 years and did nothing
UPA agreement was 20 B USD for 126 fighter, so to buy 36 fighter in EUROS it will cost 5.09 B Euros, now Modi is paying 7.87 B Euros.. now you decide you is paying whom and what is going on ..
Rafale is one of the best 4th Gen Medium weight aircraft available. It’s reliability, payload, and capabilities like sensor fusion AESA etc are certainly impressive. So from a capabilities perspective Rafale was a good choice and good negotiation
UPA Deal : 20 B USD for 126 fighters… with UPA Agreement we coudl have bought 36 Rafales for 5.09B Euros.. but modi is paying Eur 7.87 B..
How many years have passed since it was it 5.098 Euros?
These combat aircraft, delivery of which will start in 36 months and will be completed in 66 months what the hell even pizzas get delivered fast , by that time it would be outdated
India needs to spend even more on missiles and fighter planes if we want to destroy Pakistan and China. Namo is best PM.
We take it as a gift and support from France. Thank you France
Great step for Indian Airforce !
We need 300 of these.

Congratulations to IAF and all countrymen…..!!
NOTHING WILL BE OF EDGE…if you dont manufacture them in INDIA…
Rafale is like an arrow head, giving the capability to hit targets far away. Real muscle will come with domestic production of Tejas
Congratulations,France and India. This deal is a precursor to greater co- operation between the two friendly Countries in matters of manufacturing and Defense
Just waste of money. Here our millions of citizens are not having food to eat and government is investing billions on defense. First take care of citizens.
lol sum idiot below compares Rafael with the junk Jf-17
Hai guys don”t be so exited, this aircraft has a normal life of 3000hours!!!! High maintenance cost… Many more billions to spend!!! India needs to develop herself…. Always buying buying… When are we going to produce good ones???
NOW I congratulate India for this. Lets get the S400 missile defence systems from Russia soon. Also speeden up the mordernisation and upgrade of Tejas aircrafts so we can use it as a stock combat fighter.
at time of upa we are getting 126 jets for $20 billion and now we are buying 36 jets for â ¬ 7.8 billion ,how it”s beneficial for us..??? can anyone explain
Now put them on the front line and see how good they really are
